At 6pm on November 21 at the Khang Media Film Studio, the 5th Red Ribbon Award Ceremony 2019 organized by Vietnam Network for People Living with HIV (VNP +) officially took place. The awards ceremony was carried out in support of The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the US Centers for Disease Control and Khang Media Company.

CBO Kết Nối Trẻ (Bình Dương) was awarded the outstanding Community-based Organization in the K = K Movement

Over the past 5 years, the Red Ribbon Award has contributed to reducing stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV and recognizing the efforts of individuals and community-based organizations (CBOs) in controlling the HIV epidemic in Vietnam.

At the awards ceremony, 3 individuals and 2 organizations within the network of LIFE Centre were honored. In the collective category, CBO Gia Toc Rong (HCM) won the Outstanding Community-based Organization Award and CBO Kết Nối Trẻ (Binh Duong) won the Outstadning Community-based organization award in the K = K movement (Undetectable = Untransmittable).

CBO Gia Tộc Rồng (HCMC) and CBO S Đỏ (Cần Thơ) won the Outstanding Community Organization Award in 2019.

In the individual category, the Red Ribbon honors Ms. Trần Thị Phụng, CBO Niềm Tin (HCMC), who is a prominent figure supporting the community of drug users and sex workers. The award of the outstanding character to support the transgender community in 2019 was awarded to Ms. Adriana Trang, Team Leader of Strong Ladies (HCMC). And also, Mr. Tung Van Luu Khiet (Ho Chi Minh City) was awarded the Typical Character Award K = K.
